For more than 20 years I have worked in the optical industry, building businesses around one simple belief — eyewear is not only about how people look, but also about how they see, live and experience the world.
Today I am involved in the development and management of several optical businesses — GF Optical, TOP EYE Optical, STAR OPTIC and GG OPTIC — with a growing network of 12 branches and a team of around 40 people.
My role goes beyond managing stores. It runs across business strategy and operations, team development, brand partnerships, customer experience, and the continuous growth of our optical retail network.
My business interests also extend beyond optical retail. I serve as a Director of WTHT Metal Sdn. Bhd., a Penang industrial company working in machine and equipment trading, factory dismantling and metal trading — a very different industry, but the same discipline of building a team, earning trust and delivering on what you promise.
Because our business is fundamentally connected to vision and eye care, community service has become a natural part of what we do — through eye-care programmes, CSR initiatives and eyewear sponsorships that reach people with limited access to proper eyewear.

Beyond the optical industry, I am honoured to serve as Chairman of the Board of Visitors of Hospital Bukit Mertajam — connecting the hospital with the community, and supporting efforts to enhance patient welfare and healthcare services.
The role means working closely with hospital management, healthcare professionals, community organisations and other stakeholders, particularly on community engagement, patient welfare and hospital development.

As Chairman of MPKK Cawangan Taman Impian, I work with residents, community representatives and relevant stakeholders to understand the needs and concerns of the local community — and to connect those needs with the right organisations and channels.
Community leadership, to me, is about being present and listening. It complements the work in the optical industry and the healthcare initiatives: whether through business, community programmes or public service, meaningful leadership begins with understanding the people around us.
Business and community are not two separate responsibilities. A successful business should be able to grow while creating value for the people around it.
